Amino Acids

Amino acids are the chemical building blocks of protein and used widely by the body. They are divided into two classes: essential and non-essential. Essential amino acids are those that your body cannot produce on its own and must be consumed through diet or supplementation. Non essential amino acids are those that can be manufactured by the liver.

Some studies have shown that amino acid supplementation may help to stimulate the body's production of growth hormone and generally help in production of fat free muscle mass.

Creatine

Creatine is a substance found naturally in the body that supplies energy to cells in the body, particularly the muscle cells. It is generally considered a safe and effective supplement though it should be avoided by those with kidney disease.

Creatine is available in powder form to be mixed into a drink or as capsules. Studies have shown it can help to increase muscle mass and help to improve performance in anaerobic exercise. Those with Kidney disease should avoid Creatine, and to help avoid a muscle cramping side effect, trainers should stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.

ZMA - Zinc monomethionine aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate

This supplement is a combination of Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin B6 and is widely used by bodybuilders and athletes. It should be taken before bed on an empty stomach and not combined with dairy product that will interfere with the body's absorption of the Zinc.

Zinc is an essential mineral for muscle growth and repair and Magnesium aids in having a deeper quality of sleep. Many studies have shown that taking ZMA improves strength levels, testosterone levels and power output.
